Department of Pharmaceutical chemistry

Pharmaceutical chemistry is another important department of Pharmacy. It involves the study of drug or medicine with considering its chemical aspect. In this department various chemical tests are performed for identification of the medicament and to check its quality. Here medicament or drug is synthesized by carrying out various chemical reactions. It also involves various quality control tests to check impurities if any present in the medicament and assays to find out concentration of medicament. Student acquire hands on skill of various tests like identification tests, limit tests, assays etc. They become able to find out impurities and quality of medicament.
